From time to time, experts who are creating audio products – usually CD programs or downloadable material – ask to interview me as an expert for those products.
You have these rights to use the interview:
- You can use the interview royalty-free in your audio products.
- You can give away the products or sell them at any price.
- You can use the full interview or extracts from it, as you wish, as long as you don't use interview segments out of context.
- You cannot use the interview in any other form without express written permission – e.g. transcribing it to create printed material
What preparation is required?
It will help if you send me the interview questions ahead of time, to help me prepare.
I'll also be able to send you articles I've written on this topic, to help in your background briefing. I'm happy to read any material you send me as well.
For information about me, see the following pages:
How does the interview work?
Telephone interviews
I use Skype or a teleconference service for conducting my own interviews. So if you don't already have a facility for recording the interview, we can use this method.
Even if you use this method, I highly recommend you use your own recording system as well, as a backup.
Face-to-face interviews
I live in Perth, and only travel occasionally (usually to Sydney or Melbourne, less frequently to Brisbane and Auckland). If we can arrange the interview around one of my trips, I'm happy to accommodate that option.
See my current travel schedule here.
What happens after the interview?
That's up to you! The interview then becomes your material, for you to edit and publish as a product.
I would love to get a copy of the finished product for my archives, but that's not essential.
You own the copyright of the interview. Of course, that doesn't alter my intellectual property and expertise in the interview. But in practical terms, this means I will not use the interview as one of my own products. Only you have that right.
The Fees
Interviews are conducted at our normal consulting rate: $1,500 + GST (for a one-hour session).
What next?
If you'd like to proceed, please e-mail me with an outline of the topic, venue and possible dates. I'll then confirm availability and send you an invoice.
After payment, we can liaise regarding the theme, exact questions, and other information you require.
I look forward to hearing from you!
