You send me your current products and service list by mail, e-mail or on your Web site, and I'll review them and identify the most

Consulting Session
We review your current offerings and discuss the leverage possibilities. This is available in one of two forms:
- A one-hour telephone consulting session, a CD with the recording
of our consulting session, and a written transcript of the
session. OR
- A three-hour face-to-face consulting session.

Step Web site package, you get a bonus hour (making a total of
two hours).
And you can split those two hours into half-hour sessions if

Is this right for you?
To get maximum value from this package, you do have to have some
valuable intellectual property to work with. I really can't make this
work with people who are just starting out in speaking, training,
coaching or consulting. It's just too difficult to leverage value when
there's not much unique value to begin with.
If you are just starting out, I hope that didn't offend you. That
certainly was not my intention. But I do get a lot of requests for help
from people just starting out, and I've discovered that many of them
have yet to develop the depth of intellectual property and industry
experience required to gain maximum leverage.

Here are Three Profit-Building Ideas You Can Use NOW
Now, you may have heard similar promises in the past ... So I'm going to
give you some proof right now. I'll share with you three of the ideas
I've used with other clients.
Idea 1: The Power of Sequential Auto-Responders
If your typical "gig" for a client is a one-off event - such as a
keynote speech, a training workshop, a public seminar or a facilitation
retreat - are you doing as much as possible to keep offering follow-up
material to your client? Oh sure, you can follow up with your e-mail
newsletter, the occasional phone call, or popping your brochure in the
mail, but is that really giving them on-going value?
One powerful technique for giving real value-added service is to sign up
every attendee in a follow-up course, delivered by e-mail.
In the Internet marketing world, this is called a "sequential
auto-responder". It's usually used to keep in touch with prospects
regularly, and quite frankly, some Internet marketers use it so much
that it's obnoxious.
But because you're an expert in your field, you can use the same
technology to deliver valuable follow-up material to your clients.
And it happens automatically. You write the course material once,
program it to go out at regular intervals (there's inexpensive software
to manage this process - in fact, I even sell this software myself), and
that's it! When somebody is signed up, they will get the material in
their in-box automatically. You don't have to touch a button ... and
they get to hear from you every week or month.
The first client of mine who used this software doubled his keynote fee
overnight. Yes, really! He simply explained to his clients that his
audiences would forget most of what he taught within a week
(statistically, that's true for any speaker or trainer), so he could
reinforce the learning with a three-month follow-up course.
And where do you find the material for your course? You probably have it
already! You're probably not calling it an on-line course, though. It
might be your book ... or a special report you've written ... or maybe
even the handout that you would normally have given at your training
session.
In fact, that's what another client of mine did. He took his handout,
for which he normally charged $25 per person, split it up into six
sections, delivered a section every two weeks, and now he had a
three-month follow-up course. He sells this for $100 per head, and he
sells it for every workshop he runs. You do the maths! If his average
workshop has 20 participants, that's an additional $2000 on top of his
speaking fee.
Idea 2: Turn Your Book Into An E-Book ... The Right Way
When I attend professional speaker conferences, I'm constantly stopped
in the hallways and coffee lounges and asked about e-books. And that's
not surprising, because that's a topic I often talk about at these
conferences.
But I've realised that most speakers and authors go about creating
e-books in the wrong way. They think that they can take their printed
book, convert it into PDF, put it on their Web site, and voila! - they
have the perfect e-book!
Don't get me wrong. You can do it that way ... and some well-known print
authors - such as Stephen King, Seth Godin and Scott Adams (the guy who
draws the Dilbert cartoons) - do succeed that way. But remember that
Stephen King, Seth Godin and Scott Adams have the marketing muscle of
big publishing companies behind them. You probably don't.
So converting your printed book into an e-book is probably the worst
thing you could do. For starters, you're competing with yourself.
But more importantly, you're missing the Value Proposition of books
versus e-books. I'll explain ...
Your printed book gives you credibility. You're a "published author",
not just another speaker, trainer, coach or consultant. If your book is
good (as judged by your market, not your mother), you're "the" author of
the book on emotional intelligence, leadership, real estate investing,
underwater basket weaving, whatever. Men clap, women swoon.
Your e-book will never give you the same value. Even if you sell
thousands of copies of your e-book, the world just doesn't care. Unfair
but true. On the other hand, people buy e-books for their value. Which
means that you can sell them for much, much more.
For example, I sell a 50-page e-book for $97. Ironically, if I hired a
designer to do the layout, printed it, bound it, and sold it like a
book, people would only pay $25 for it. Maximum! Probably less, because
it would look like a thin book.
So how do I sell it for $97? Simply by promising that the reader will
get 10 times as much value from it. And backing up that promise with an
iron-clad guarantee. I don't have time to go into all the details here,
but I'll explain it in full in the Leverage Consulting programme.
Idea 3: If You Can't Write It, Speak It!
OK, but what if you don't have the time to write new products? I mean,
you're busy enough as it is with all the work you're already doing!
Right?
Right. Yes, we're all busy, and I'm not going to feed you some time
management guru BS about making the time ... or living in Quadrant 2 ...
or imagining yourself on your deathbed looking back on your life. You
haven't got the time - I'll accept that.
But here's a powerful secret ... The words that come out of your mouth
when you present, consult, train or coach are gold! They have to be, or
else your clients wouldn't hire you. Am I right?
These are the very words that can go into your products. So make sure
that you record every presentation, every coaching session, every client
phone call and every consulting meeting. Of course, you have to get
permission, but that's simply a matter of telling people that you are
recording.
This is a cinch! Digital voice recorders are simple to use, very
inexpensive and have a huge amount of memory nowadays. Just click the
Record button at the start of a meeting or presentation, and you'll be
saving your precious words for use in your products.
And I'm not talking about audio products alone - although that is one
obvious option. When you've got the recording, get it transcribed (there
are services on the Internet that do this for as low as $25 per hour of
audio), edit it, and you've got yourself a book, e-book, on-line course,
special report, article or white paper.
It really is that simple!
Can You See Some of the Possibilities?
I'm sure you'll agree that these three examples alone could instantly
multiply your product range. But I want to remind you that this is just
a partial inventory of what you'll get. There's much more than I have
space to elaborate on here.
Once you see these powerful techniques, you'll wonder why speakers,
trainers, coaches and consultants don't use them all the time. The
answer to that is simple. Most of them don't even have a clue that these
techniques exist! Or they think it takes up too much time, effort and
money.
